Helen House is a LGBTQ+ youth organization in Ellensburg, Washington. Tylene Carnell (she/her) is the founder and former director and has extensive experience supporting and organizing on behalf of LGBTQ+ people, including transgender adults, in and beyond Central Washington.
Phase I of the TransRural Lives project was funded in part by a Humanities Washington Stories Fund Grants.
The Paths (Re)Membered Project centers the Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ community–its strengths, resiliencies, and histories—in our movement toward health equity. Through community engagement, research, and advocacy, the project works toward a liberated 2SLGBTQ+ future, which includes the memories of Two Spirit ancestors, the wisdom of elders, and the creativity of young people.
TRANSform Culture, a Pride Foundation public education campaign launched in 2016, works to lift up the stories of BIPOC intersex, nonbinary, transgender, Two-Spirit, and non-cisgender.
